An investigation has been launched after a two-metre-tall sculpture of an erect penis disappeared from a mountainside as mysteriously as it appeared.
The sculpture baffled locals when it first appeared on the Grünten mountain in the south of Bavaria, Germany some years ago but later became a popular tourist destination.
The 200kg wooden sculpture has now disappeared as mysteriously as it appeared, with just a pile of sawdust left behind, The Guardian reports.
The matter is being investigated by local police from the nearby town of Kempten, but they are not yet sure whether a crime has been committed.
