A professional hair model has been awarded nearly £200,000 after a salon gave her a botched haircut.
The model, who has not been named, was long-haired but left the salon with short hair and a flaky scalp blamed on a chemical treatment.
The case was brought by the Delhi-based woman to India’s National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC), which found in her favour.
The model told the quasi-judicial body that she did not realise how poorly the haircut was going because she had removed her glasses.
The commission awarded 20 million rupees – nearly £200,000 or around €230,000 – in recognition of her losses, The Times reports.
