This will see everyone working at the company, both permanent employees and third-party contractors, receive a minimum hourly wage of £8.75 per hour, as compared to the national minimum wage of £7.05.

The real UK Living Wage is an hourly pay rate based on the true cost of living which is calculated annually based on living costs in the UK. As a result, over 150,000 UK employees have received a pay rise and the movement enjoys cross-party support.

Kevin MacKay, general manager at Alex M Adamson, said: “One of the key aspects of paying the Living Wage is that we are able to offer new starts a better package which has benefits for recruiting and retaining staff in the longer term.

“We are very focused on providing our clients with the best possible service. Being able to attract high quality staff and hold on to them is essential as it allows the time for them to fully develop their skills, ensuring they can handle all aspects of their role confidently.”

Katherine Chapman, director of Living Wage Foundation said: “We welcome Alex M Adamson LLP to the Living Wage movement as an accredited employer. Responsible businesses across the UK are voluntarily signing up to pay the real Living Wage now.

“These businesses recognise that the Living Wage accreditation is the mark of a responsible employer and they, like Alex M Adamson LLP join us, because they too believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.”
