In 2018 Shoosmiths is supporting the national dinner series of the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA).

Last night, the BVCA dinner series came to Edinburgh, with the Balmoral Hotel hosting industry professionals, specialist advisers, entrepreneurs and business owners. Fraser Doherty MBE, founder of SuperJam and a director of the registered Scottish charity, The SuperJam Tea Parties was guest speaker.

Alison Gilson, head of corporate at Shoosmiths in Edinburgh, fellow partner Stuart Murray, and representatives of corporate finance boutique Quest Corporate Ltd hosted a table at the black tie event.

Ms Gilson said: “The BVCA dinner series is an important event in Scotland’s corporate calendar. At a time when Scotland’s economy continues to experience its share of opportunity and challenges, in my opinion we are seeing a degree of buoyancy in the M&A market, significant capital investment in the hotel sector and positive interest in the technology and healthcare sectors.

“Against this backdrop, last night’s BVCA dinner delivered on its promise to stimulate plenty of discussion and debate among guests drawn from across Scotland’s private equity, venture capital and wider business community.”
