Advocates Keeping Feet (and Heads) on Terra Firma for Sleep in the Park

Members of Terra Firma Chambers are to participate in Sleep in the Park, the world’s largest ever sleep-out to end homelessness in Scotland.

Team Terra Firma, comprising Andrew Bowen QC, Graham Dunlop, Roddy MacLeod and clerks Emma Potter and Andrew Veitch, will be part of a 9,000 strong gathering sleeping rough in Princes Street Gardens on the 9th of December, with the aim of raising £4m for Social Bite in their mission to eradicate homelessness in Scotland within a 5-year period. By participating in Sleep in the Park, Terra Firma will be joining a collaborative movement of the third sector, private sector and the Scottish Government to tackle one of society’s most pressing issues.

Social Bite is a national Social Enterprise in Scotland. Through a chain of cafes and restaurants they employ over 100 people many of whom have struggled with homelessness. Social Bite is the largest distributor of fresh free food to the homeless in the UK giving out over 100,000 items of food and hot drinks per year. They are also launching homelessness accommodation through the Social Bite Village project.

You can visit Terra Firma’s sponsorship page at Virgin Money Giving. All donations will be gratefully received and will be quickly processed and passed to Social Bite. Virgin Money Giving is a not-for-profit and will claim gift aid on the charity’s behalf where the donor is eligible for this.
