Working within Legal and Democratic Services you will be part of our legal team and provide construction and projects advice to Council departments, Scotland Excel and officers.
You will provide advice and support in relation to the Council’s varied projects and construction advice and support in connection with planned and ongoing construction procurement for the Council.
You must hold a current Practising Certificate from the Law Society of Scotland and have construction experience and be able to carry out a range of tasks within a broad construction based remit i.e building contracts, development agreements etc. You will have an ability to work under pressure and you will be able motivate others and demonstrate an ability to deliver innovation in service delivery. You must have an ability to deal with complex legal matters and have effective contract drafting/revising skills.
You must have an understanding of how the EU procurement rules affect local authority projects and construction contracts and framework agreements.
You will be able to demonstrate involvement in such projects either in the public or private sector, and an ability to make a contribution to the successful delivery of such projects.
