Our Public Sector and Housing team, twice named Scotland’s Public Sector Team of the Year, are looking for a Solicitor with property and conveyancing experience to support them in acting for a wide range of Scottish and UK public and third sector organisations, as well as those in the private sector who interact with the public sector.
The team’s clients include central government directorates, local authorities, non-departmental public bodies, regulatory bodies, housing associations and charities as well as private sector property developers and investors.
A large part of the team’s workload involves supporting these clients in relation to their diverse property requirements which include: development site acquisitions and assembly; development agreements; deeds of conditions for mixed tenure developments; shared equity and shared ownership; large scale security exercises; secured grant funding; property factoring; and ad hoc queries.
The team prides itself in not only providing a responsive expert technical service but in also being able to provide its services in a contextualised way which demonstrates an understanding of the particular environment within which each client operates, thereby adding value.
The successful candidate must have experience of property and conveyancing law, be a self-starter, capable of dealing with a wide variety of queries and be able to work confidently in a fast moving environment. The successful candidate could be based in either our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices.
