The Spotlight On… series examines a different business sector at each event, profiling hot topics and legal issues facing the sector, as well as discussing commercial and business drivers. Its purpose is to help build deeper commercial and industry knowledge among young lawyers, using a sector based approach. For this event, we will be focusing on the Cyber Security Sector in Scotland.
This is a joint event with the Faculty of Actuaries’ Student Society (FASS) and we will hear from a couple of speakers for 15-20 minutes each on a key current legal hot topic impacting the cyber security sector and their own experiences in the sector followed by Q&A from the audience.
Speakers include Vassilis (Basil) Manoussos who is the Manager of the Cyber Academy at Edinburgh Napier University and the Digital Forensics & Cyber Crime Consultant at Strathclyde Forensics as well as Gerard Grant who is the Chief Ethical Hacker at the Scottish Business Resilience Centre.
The event will run from 6pm on Wednesday 25th October 2017 and may count for up to 1 hour’s CPD. Registration will be from 5.45pm.
We look forward to welcoming you then! We also hope you will be able to join us for a drink afterwards at Akva from 7pm.
