This is your chance to join our award winning employment team, working in a varied role advising clients across a range of employment related instructions.
About the Role
Our UK employment team is made up of over 40 qualified lawyers across six locations. We are committed to all our lawyers gaining an excellent mix of work and experience, and are able to deliver this given the exceptional range of clients that we work with, and our first class training.
You will be involved in advising commercial clients in relation to matters including:
- day-to-day employment queries including (but not limited to) disciplinary/grievance matters, ill health and disability issues and changes to terms and conditions,
- HR data privacy,
- senior executive contracts, negotiations and terminations,
- collective matters such as redundancies, integration and TUPE,
- wider support of employment aspects of corporate transactions,
- trade union matters, and
- tribunal litigation where you will be expected to conduct the advocacy on behalf of our clients at employment tribunal and employment appeal tribunal.
Our team also plays a central role in CMS as a global provider of employment legal advice and regularly advises clients on cross-jurisdictional projects.
Given the type of work you will undertake we anticipate that you will need to have minimum 2-3 years’ relevant PQE (or equivalent including training contract experience) to meet the demands of the role.
You will also have an excellent academic record.
Your experience in employment law will be varied and you will have advised clients directly, as well as having supported transactional work.
Ideally you will have experience before the employment tribunals.
Some immigration experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
Appropriate legal qualification.
