Acting Solicitor for the Communities & Young People Team
Salary Range – £34,476 – £36,558
Stirling Council is an ambitious Council, delivering an exciting new vision, and one that is externally focused and aimed at ensuring the best possible outcomes for all our communities.
To support this we have a fantastic opportunity for two highly skilled solicitors to join the team, to help shape the future provision of legal services at the Council and play a key role in the delivery of the Council’s vision. The posts will also have an integral role in the delivery of a number of exciting Council initiatives. This includes the Council’s City Region Deal, which is the Council’s ambitious £200m vision to transform Stirling into a global and international powerhouse, designed to build on Stirling’s many world class assets and re-position it as a major economic player, centre of innovation and destination of choice.
The successful candidates will help deliver high quality and solution-focused legal advice and support on a wide range of areas, although each role is specialised. Both posts are fixed term contracts, for between 9 and 12 months.
The Acting Lead Solicitor for the Projects and Commercial Team will focus on managing and directing legal advice for all aspects of non-litigious commercial law, including procurement, projects, corporate, commercial contracts, property, planning and general governance matters.
The Solicitor for the Communities and Young People Team will be engaged in delivering legal advice and support for all aspects of licensing and litigation matters, including liquor and civic licensing, and legal support for matters relating to children, education, housing, anti-social behaviour orders, employment, social work and health and social care integration.
The Acting Lead Solicitor will have direct line management responsibility for a number of staff, and also assist the Chief Governance Officer on a large variety of other matters related to the wider governance of the Council.
If potentially interested applicants would wish to discuss these posts in confidence they can contact Iain Strachan, Chief Governance Officer, on 01786 233 108, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
No CVs or agencies please.
